New to Studio 22?
Born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Maya Apodaca started dancing at a young age, but discovered a passion for ballroom dancing in high school. Maya began her teaching career in Albuquerque, New Mexico before relocating to the Dallas area. Maya has a love for children, and teaches the students of the Youth DanceSport Program, in addition to her work as the Director of Teaching for Drama Kids, a youth drama program.
What inspired you to become a dancer?
I started learning while at the Boys and Girls Club
What is your favorite thing about teaching?
Seeking the growth in people.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Cat Island because they have cats!
What is your favorite thing to do on your day off?
I usually come into work...but I do like to read, see a good movie, and hang out with Cody and the cats.

Supernatural

1. I am a Gryffindor.

There are no such thing as weird habits - only weird people...and who wants to be normal?

My own home-cooked food. Red chili enchiladas and potato soup.

Director of a Boys' and Girls' Club and a Lawyer.

I have two: "What doesn't kill you makes you stornger," and "You can find the positive in everything that happens."
