All levels are welcome. Pilates for DancersWith the dancer in mind, this class focuses on body-conditioning technique designed to condition, stretch, strengthen, balance and tone the body. Pilates targets the deep postural muscles within the body through a series of exercises aimed at building muscle strength and rebalancing the body. Excellent for improving posture, strength and flexibility and aligning the body correctly, pilates also teaches coordination, concentration and control of the body. Students will learn classical Pilates on the mat as well as incorporate stretches and exercises that will help to prevent injury and rehabilitate and work the body focusing on control, balance, flow, breath, and precision. (Students should bring a yoga mat & 2- to 3-pound weights with them to class.)
